FOCUSING on promoting the Philippine culture, arts and education, Jewel of the Philippines 2017 - a multi-titled beauty pageant is set to crown its candidates on October 7, 2017 at the UP GT - Toyota Asian Cultural Center in Quezon City after choosing twenty-four official candidates during its screening on Sunday, September 9, 2017 at the Madisson 101 Hotel and Tower in Quezon City.
Events and pageant director, beauty queen-maker and the organizer Mr. John Dela Vega in partnership with the Department of Education - MIMAROPA (Region IV-B) aims to partner with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts to lift the objectives of the pageant.
"My goal is for the pageant to become an avenue to showcase the rich Filipino culture and its truly magnificent artistic expressions through a spectacle of beauty", Mr. Dela Vega said.
KIF Travel and Leisure, a Chinese company catering to property development and application apart from tourism, travel and leisure business headed by the owner and CEO, Mr. Tu Yu Han showed its support to the advocacy of the pageant by having them as an official partner of the Jewel of the Philippines 2017. The partnership aims to introduce and bring the Chinese and Filipino culture closer together and provide an avenue for a non-traditional "cultural experience" through a beauty pageant.
"The rich culture and friendly people makes the Philippines a perfect destination for both business and leisure. The partnership with Jewel of the Philippines is a good start to staging a new Philippine-based international tilt, Jewel of the World next year", Mr. Dela Vega emphasized.
Some of the previous candidates of Jewel of the Philippines are marking their names as they compete in the global stage; Natasha Manuel who competed Miss ASEAN 2017, Romellean Pontino for Miss United Continents on September 23, 2017 in Ecuador; Cindy de Vera for Global Charity Queen in Taiwan and Gladys Santos for Miss Tourism World in Mongolia.
